Areas We Cover

Fcckeokuk covers a wide range of everyday subjects, and the archive can feel like a well-stocked cupboard: everything is in there somewhere. This page sorts it into sections, explains what belongs in each and suggests a good first article to open.

Home

Renovations, painting, lighting, plumbing, pest problems in rented flats and the many small decisions that turn a house into a home. We focus on knowing what to ask, when a job suits a weekend and when it is time to call in a professional. A good place to start is the comparison of DIY and professional bathroom renovation, or our newer guide to making a photo album.

Events

Parties, reunions, engagements, weddings and the planning that sits behind them: invitations, timing, food, decorations and keepsakes. Begin with how to plan a surprise party or how to plan a family reunion.

Tech

Television delivered over the internet, smart homes, gaming setups, home servers and the online tools that come up in daily life. Our tech articles explain how things work and what to check before signing up, and we only discuss properly licensed services. Try television and the rise of smart homes for an overview.

Foods

What to cook, pour and share at home and with guests: drink pairings, make-ahead menus, ingredients from other food cultures and simple kitchen projects. Start with cold brew coffee at home or hosting a dinner party.

Travel

Trips with family and friends, packing, loyalty programmes and destinations worth a long journey. We write for people who want a good trip without a complicated plan. Our guide on packing for a cruise and the piece on Taormina for families and groups are both good openers.

Sports

Fan culture, safety kit and the gear that goes with adventurous hobbies such as skydiving and motorcycling. Safety notes always come first in these pieces. See the safety checks for skydiving rigs for an example.

Lifestyle

The broadest section: collecting watches, flowers, fashion, small business ideas, local services and everything that does not fit neatly elsewhere. It is the best section to browse when you are not looking for anything in particular.

What we leave out

We do not cover gambling or anything that relies on unlicensed content. We avoid personal medical, legal and financial advice, and a provider mentioned in a guide still needs checking on your side.

Missing something?

If you were looking for a subject and could not find it, tell us through the contact page. Gaps in the archive are how we decide what to write next.
